Water Damage Cleanup in Irvine , CA
ServiceFirst responded to a situation in which a tree crashed through the back of the master bedroom during heavy rains, damaging drywall, baseboards, and hardwood flooring.
Servpro had previously set up drying equipment at Mercury Insurance’s request, but the claim was denied, leading the homeowner to file an appeal.
Given the lack of progress with drying, we recommended the removal of all affected materials. We performed content manipulation, set up containment, covered items with painter’s plastic, removed baseboards, drywall, insulation, and eventually, the glued-down engineered wood flooring over subsequent visits.
We cleaned the area thoroughly, including scraping off remaining glue, HEPA vacuuming, applying IAQ to wood framing, and setting up drying equipment once power was restored.
After conducting a service check and ensuring dry framing, we removed equipment and left one hydroxyl and two air scrubbers to address odor concerns. The project is now ready for repairs, but we noted that the stucco wall where the tree crashed was not correctly fixed, which could lead to future water intrusion issues.
