Water Damage From A Roof Leak in Irvine , California
ServiceFirst responded to a roof leak that caused visible damage and mold in the daughter’s bedroom, affecting the drywall, baseboards, carpet/padding, and subfloor.
After inspecting the attic and garage, which showed no signs of water damage, staining, or growth, we discussed the findings and proposed two options to the homeowner, leaning toward post-mold clearance.
We removed the affected subfloor, installed a new subfloor, sanded exposed framing, HEPA vacuumed, sealed cavities, and applied an IAQ wipe-down on framing and containment walls. Following thorough cleaning and disinfection, we placed stabilizing equipment, preparing the project for mold testing.
During subsequent visits, we covered floors, manipulated contents, removed carpet/padding, drywall, and insulation, applied IAQ, cleaned, disinfected, and placed stabilizing equipment. The project is now ready for completion and is pending further mold testing.
