On 12/6/24, the downstairs bathroom and kitchen were affected due to possible drain, waterproofing, or shower tile issues from the upstairs stand-up shower. The affected materials included drywall, wainscoting, and baseboards. The homeowner stopped using the upstairs shower to prevent further damage. Floor protection and containment were set up, the washer and dryer were detached, and affected materials were removed. The exposed framing was sanded and treated with peroxide and antimicrobial. Drying equipment was set up, and a water test was conducted to identify the source of the loss. Subsequent visits involved monitoring the drying process. Moisture levels were minimal in the seal plates and drywall between the kitchen and living room. Additional drying equipment was set up and sealed around exposed drywall. By the final visit, all materials had met drying standards, and all equipment was removed. The homeowner signed the COS, confirming the job’s completion and readiness for repairs. No further demolition was required.
