Thought of the day! 5-27-14

Those who create good fellowship among others will never be short of friends.

If you have a friend who goes out of his way to help cement friendships between others, consider yourself fortunate indeed. In today’s frantic, mobile, throwaway society, such individuals are exceedingly rare. With the demands placed upon us by our careers, our families, and the hectic pace of daily life, most of us have little time for ourselves, and even less for our friends. Yet we know that friendship freely given and gratefully received is one of life’s greatest gifts.

Thought of the Day – 5.22.14

Before opportunity crowns you with great success, it usually tests your mettle through adversity.

Adversity provides the resistance necessary to develop the strength to overcome great obstacles. This strength consists of self-confidence, perseverance, and, very importantly, self-knowledge. For if you do encounter a setback, it is a clue to a personal weakness. You may have been hasty in judging a competitor, or you may have been too timid in your vision of what needed to be done. Let adversity be your guide to understanding where you mis-stepped and which qualities you need to cultivate. No one rejoices in disappointment, but if you are success-conscious, you can turn the situation into a chance for improving your character, an opportunity you otherwise would have missed.

Thought of the Day – May 21 2014

Failure is a blessing when it pushes us out of a cushioned seat of self-satisfaction and forces us to do something useful.

If you carefully study your own life and those of achievers whom you admire, it is an absolute certainty you will discover that your greatest opportunities often occurred during times of adversity. It is only when faced with the possibility of failure that we are willing to deal with radical change and take the risks that lead to great success. When you experience temporary failure and you know that it is temporary, you can capitalize on the opportunities adversity always brings.

Thought of the Day – May 16th!

The most important job is that of learning how to negotiate with others without friction.

Experts in negotiation handle the process so smoothly that discussions hardly seem like negotiations at all. While the word negotiation itself conjures up visions of cigar-chomping adversaries pounding the table to emphasize their demands, the best results are achieved when all the parties involved are able to put themselves in the others’ shoes and arrive at an agreement that is beneficial to everyone involved. Whether you are negotiating a higher salary, a new job, or the acquisition of a company, your chances of success are far greater when you approach the situation positively and with a clear objective in mind. It also helps to understand the motives of others involved and to have in-depth knowledge of the subject under discussion. Finally, approach every topic with an open mind — don’t simply try to bully others into accepting your proposal or point of view.

Thought of the Day – May 17th!

Constancy of purpose is the first principle of success.

It is critical to your success that you have a well-thought-out plan for your life and that you stick with it regardless of what others may say and the obstacles you encounter. There will always be fault-finders and those who attempt to persuade you that your goals aren’t worth the effort you put into achieving them. Those people will never go far, and they will be the first to ask for your help after you have passed them by. Virtually every successful person has considered giving up at some point in his or her struggle to reach the top. And many breakthroughs occurred soon after those same people rededicated themselves to their purpose. There is no known obstacle that cannot be overcome by a person who has constancy of purpose, a Positive Mental Attitude, and the discipline and willpower to succeed.

Thought of the Day – If you can’t manage your own mental attitude, what makes you think you can help others?

If you can’t manage your own mental attitude, what makes you think you can help others?

Why is it that often those who believe they would be the best leaders of others — if they were only given the opportunity — haven’t learned to manage themselves properly? Before you can ever have any hope of managing others effectively, you must first learn to set an example for others to follow. It is simply impossible for you to inspire others to high levels of achievement if you cannot inspire yourself to do the same. Don’t make the mistake that many others make by saying, “When they give me more responsibility, I’ll show them I can.” The first move is yours. You must first prove yourself worthy.

Thought of the day! Loafing hurts others, but it hurts you more.

Loafing hurts others, but it hurts you more.

Some people expend far more energy getting out of tasks than they would spend doing the task well. They may think they are fooling the others, but they are only fooling themselves. Company leadership may not know all the details of every task an individual performs, but a good leader knows the results of effort. You can be sure that when plum assignments become available, they won’t be offered to loafers. If you do your job cheerfully and well, not only are you more likely to be recognized and rewarded, but you also learn how to do your job better. As you become more proficient, you become more valuable to your team and company. You also acquire the most valuable of all assets — the confidence that comes from knowing you possess skills that will increase your value to any organization.

Acres of Diamonds

Good morning,

Been receiving quite a few requests for the story “Acre of Diamonds”. Many want to share with their teams. GREAT idea! Attached is my handwritten version, the exact piece used in Mike Stromsoe’s live events. It’s better than those on youtube.com, but use what is effective and works for your situation.

Search Earl Nightingale – acres of diamonds , on youtube.com and/or go to amazon and find the books/cds etc or do nothing and get the same thing you’ve always gotten….. that’s the GREAT thing  about today – opportunity

PS Be Memorable

South Orange County Property Managers Love Servicefirst!

To all Property Managers.

Service First handled every aspect of both of our water damage/mold occurrences in a very professional manner. As the property manager of the home, Service First made my job easier by taking charge of the project from the beginning and always getting the job done each day in a timely manner. The end result was an on time completion and quality workmanship brining the home back to how it started prior to the water damage. Christian and his team were very professional and I would recommend them as they were recommended to me.
